Thanks for the tasty donations

To the editor:

On behalf of Mari Jo Parks and the Special Santa Program, I would like to personally thank all the fine eating establishments in the Palmer-Wasilla area that donated prepared food to feed our volunteers as they worked diligently day after day at the Santa Workshop, filling the many “wish lists” that came in from local children.

This was The Special Santa’s 13th year of providing wonderful gifts, including winter gear and school supplies to low-income children in the Valley. The program served more than 3,000 children this year.

I would like to say thanks to KFC, King’s Donuts, Chepo’s, Pioneer Pizza, McDonald’s, Three Bears, Subway, Tacos Cancun, King’s Asian Buffet and Pizza Time for sharing their delicious fare with the hard working “elves” at the Workshop. A thank you is also in order for the other local restaurants that donated gift certificates to use as items in our silent auction fund-raiser: Mat-Su Lodge, Papa John’s Pizza, Quizno’s and Papa Murphy’s Pizza. We so appreciated your support.
