To the editor:
A huge thank you to the Mat-Su community that attended the Potato Bowl and dropped off sleeping bags, food and food cards, and donated more than $500 to MY House.
We have a private donor willing to match up to $25,000 with the money we raise for MY House. So in reality, we made $1,000 at the Potato Bowl for our homeless youth. We hope money continues to come in so that it can be matched.
A special thanks goes out to the Peer Helpers at Palmer, Wasilla and Burchell high schools. Your parents, school and community are proud of you for recognizing a Valley issue and volunteering your time to help your fellow peers in need.
The MY House volunteers appreciated having the shelf filled with jars of peanut butter and jelly you collected and to be used to make sandwiches for the outreach van. We look forward to working with you next year.
Thank you to all that helped make a difference in our community!
