Thanks, from the bottom of our hearts and paws

To the editor:

Alaska Dog and Puppy Rescue wishes to thank all the people who donated to our group through the Pick.Click.Give. program. A record number of people donated this year and that number seems to increase each year. This is a testament to the generosity of our community and Alaskans in general.

ADPR rescues dogs throughout Alaska, from Aniak to Kenai and everywhere in-between. Some of these dogs are the recipients of our Community Service Program, and as such, benefit from life-saving surgeries and procedures. ADPR also has a food bank program that offers dog food to families in the midst of crisis and cannot feed their dogs. In addition, ADPR provides free spay/neuter services to pit bulls in hopes of reducing the number of pits that end up being euthanized each year because they are unwanted or feared.

This year, your generosity amounted to about $57,000. ADPR promises that we will continue and expand the programs we offer to benefit dogs. With your help, we will train dogs with behavior problems, feed hungry dogs and provide medical care for dogs that would otherwise suffer and die. ADPR will find homes for young puppies and for those dogs that are at the end of their journey.

ADPR’s dreams are big and our hopes to impact the lives of dogs in Alaska are boundless.

We cannot do this without your help. We are humbled by your support and generosity.
