Please allow me to thank the inmates from Palmer Correctional Center for their hard work on the Mat-Su Valley roads. I have seen them out on the roads picking up all of the debris blown about by the Palmer winds all winter long. They have done us a great service. As the leaves are thickening with each day and the color green is overtaking the color brown, the absence of trash and other debris gives our roadways an appearance of having been groomed.
Being one of the health care providers for these men, I know most of them by name. I know these are some awesome guys and I just want the community to appreciate that this is one way these men can give back to the community through hard work. And they do it so well.
To the men of the “Road Crew,” thanks for all you do! You guys make us proud. You have blessed us and I hope it returns to you a hundredfold.
Also, thank you Superintendent Betts and your staff for the leadership, which has made this all possible.
