The Bible, the inspired word of God

To a Christian, a born-again believer the Bible is the infallible word of God, written by holy men of God inspired by the Holy Spirit. The fact is, the Bible is the only way one understands the plan of salvation and what Jesus did to redeem all mankind from sin, if they only believe.

That is how a person believes, by hearing the word of God unto salvation.

Atheists and agnostics don’t believe the Bible is God’s word, they say it is just stories and myths. Where God spoke the world into existence in the beginning, the unbeliever fabricated evolution, where God tells us to stay away from sexual sin the unbeliever wants to manipulate God’s word to say it is OK. God’s word never changes it is as correct and up to date today as it was at the beginning.

Second Timothy 3:16 says ‘’all scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.’’

I like the way Smith Wigglesworth, a tremendous man of God who walked in faith, said it, “I don’t go by what I see. I don’t go by how I feel. I go by the word of God.”

When a Christian takes God’s word and gets it in their spirit our innermost being, their faith will rise to any blessing the Bible says they have.

Real faith in God, heart faith, believes the word of God, regardless of the physical evidence.

Faith is acting on God’s word. The Bible says in Romans 10:17 ‘’so then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

The greatest hindrance to faith is a lack of knowledge of God’s word.

The Bible says ‘’the entrance of thy word giveth light...’’(Psalms 119:130).

Living in this world, it is easy to base our faith on physical evidence instead of on the word of God. That is to be like doubting Thomas. As a Christian and believing the Bible is the word of God, really go together, you can’t have the light of one without the other. As Jesus said in Mark 11:24 ‘’.... what things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them.’’ How is that possible? Because God’s word never comes back void; the power of his word is supernatural.

Faith counts the things done before God has acted. That kind of faith will only work when you know God’s word is truth. I like to say, I believe it just as God told it unto me, in his word, the Bible.

In today’s society with the Internet and all the material being passed around, nonbelievers are being real out spoken in their beliefs. In all avenues of media we are being bombarded with these views. Statements like the Bible is just a book like any other book should be totally rejected by Christians because if we did not have the Bible, there would not be a basis for anyone knowing about God’s eternal life he has given for us through Jesus Christ.

Where the Bible says faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God, is just the opposite when people reject God’s word as truth.

If a Christian does not believe God’s word, they would miss the greatest plan God has for them in this life and the life to come.

Luke 8:18 says ‘’therefore take heed how you hear...” Hear what? The Bible, the word of God.

Luke 9:26 ‘’for whoever is ashamed of me and my words...’’ What the people who don’t believe the Bible are missing about God’s word is what it shows us in first Thessalonians 1:5 ‘’for the gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit...”

People don’t understand about the power of God and the Holy Spirit’s abiding presence to watch over God’s word to perform it.

I have never met a Christian who doesn’t believe in God’s word, the Bible, as being the inspired word of God. I understand that there are people who say they are Christians who do not believe the Bible is inerrant and inspired, I’m just not sure how that’s possible. The Epistles from Acts to Jude tell of Jesus’ resurrection and his seating at the right hand of the father in heaven and what Jesus is doing for us right now.

The Bible leads us to Christ and eternal life. The world’s unbelievers can draw us away from God’s blessings if we are taken in by their theological hoopla. Christians, we must stand strong in our belief in God’s word, don’t reject even a small portion of his word. We must be doers of the word and not hearers only.
