The Break-Up and the Make-Up

Many of you know that a few weeks ago, carbs and I broke up. It wasn’t a messy break-up, just a commitment to not see each other for a while. I decided to do the Atkins diet for four weeks to get a boost on weight loss. After the four weeks, I was going to return to something more sensible and conducive to real life.

I’m not sure if I’m happy or sad to say this, but carbs and I have reconciled. After just under two weeks and a 6 pound weight loss, I fell of the wagon today. Unfortunately, I did it in a big way. For lunch I ate a mini Pizza Hit pizza at Target – bad enough – but for some inexplicable reason I got the lunch combo that also included break sticks. I guess I must have really been missing those carbs.

Now that I’ve publicly confessed, its time to get back to business. Say it with me: MODERATION. That is my new strategy. Normal, healthy food. Lots of exercise. A new lifestyle. Let’s do this!
