During the first few months of each calendar year, the Frontiersman publishes a special project. The annual publication typically revolves around a vast view of the Mat-Su. There are the past, present and future trends regarding local business, industry, education and healthcare. These are important topics that impact all of us who are fortunate enough to call the Mat-Su Borough home.
This year, we decided to take a different approach. Rather than continuing to focus on business and industry, we are highlighting the people in our community behind those businesses and industries who help the Mat-Su thrive.
We selected 25 people who play prominent roles in our community in 2025. Business owners, executives, educators and those dedicated to service. They are all champions of the community. There is no shortage of members of our community worthy of a feature in this publication. And we plan to continue highlighting the people who help make the Mat-Su a great place to live.
