The man/Christ

To the editor:

Here is a man — let’s call him God/man — who was born as no man before or since has been born, from the womb of an undefiled teenager. While still a teenager he preached to the leadership of his country. His peaceful mannerisms lent tranquility to his family and his relatives. He was viewed as quite different by his teenage friends: heady and even ethereal.

He never owned a home, wrote a book, pastured a church, nor held a political or religious office. Though he was loved and admired by women, he never married. Later his followers were his family. He never traveled more than 200 miles form his birthplace, visiting smaller towns and villages. He never “hung out” with his teenage friends doing what was popular at the time, or going against society to express his independence.

He had no credentials, no license, no approval from the power structure. Yet he declared himself “to be the way, the truth and the life.” John 12:6 He upset the priesthood establishment to the extreme by declaring God to be his father by stating “I am in the Father and the Father in me.” John 14:11 He purposefully designed his own death on the cross, that all humanity for ages to come, would have forgiveness, healings, newness in life in the spirit though his shed blood. Through this means he brought forgiveness of sins and restored relationship of “oneness” with the father. In his resurrection he opened the pathways for God’s love and grace. His presence in man’s heart today has purged evil with newness of life; replaced eternal death with eternal life and made man to be a totally new and unique creation living in him.

Nothing in the past, present or future worlds have or will have a greater effect on mankind that Jesus Christ. He is God, turned man for a short period, then turned God/man restoring God’s name as “Lord your redeemer.” Isaiah 43:14
