This is in response to “Danny,” whose online posting was reprinted in the Sept. 28 Frontiersman regarding the donation of two children’s books supporting the gay lifestyle to the Wasilla Public Library.
He stated his intent to destroy public property (burn books) and commit theft by checking out a book and intentionally failing to return it.
His comment indicates several things:
1. He is not man enough to use his full name.
2. He is not smart enough to realize that he has advertised his intent to commit criminal acts.
3. He is not aware that the library can (and will) bill him for the cost of replacing “lost” books, to include garnishment of his PFD.
There are many books in the library that I would prefer not to see taking up space, and some that should be restricted to an “adults only” shelf, but I don’t advocate theft or destruction of books I don’t care for.
People have the right to read whatever interests them, but people who advocate burning books remind me of Germany, circa 1938.
Same mentality, same caliber of people.
