Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Palmer resident Theresa Jean Badger, 55, died Dec. 4, 2004, of cancer, at Valley Assisted Living in Palmer.
A celebration-of-life service took place Tuesday, Dec. 7, at Palmer Moose Lodge.
Mrs. Badger was born Sept. 12, 1949, in Anchorage, where she attended high school.
Mrs. Badger worked as a Wal-Mart associate in Wasilla from March 2000 through September 2004. She enjoyed crocheting and loved riding horses. In her younger years, she played Bunco.
Her family wrote, "Theresa was always busy. She loved life and was usually laughing. She never knew a stranger, and loved to talk to people. She was devoted to her family."
She is survived by her husband, David L. Badger; daughters, Tracy Spain and Tonya Loyer; son, David D. Badger; grandchildren, Felecia, Wesley, Grand and Saibra; mother, Patricia Alcantra; brothers, Joe Alcantra, John Alcantra and Cameron Alcantra; sisters, Barbara Hermon, Ramona Van Cleve, Laura LaFrance, Dianna Alcantra and Neva Cobian and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Alcantra; brother, Daniel Alcantra; son, Dale Badger; granddaughter, Colleen, and nephew, Kenneth Alcantra.
Arrangements were made by Valley Funeral Home & Crematory in Wasilla.
