Theron Howard Bond

On September 15, 2019 at the age of 91, was “Promoted to Glory” surrounded by family and love ones at home.

Theron was a devoted Christian and spent most of his life going to The Salvation Army. He was a Corps Sergeant Major at the Matsu Valley Corps until he moved to Missouri where he attended Saint Jordans United Church of Christ until his passing. He joined the Navy and served in WWII and the Korean War, hence his love of God and our Country. He retired from the State of Alaska working as a Utilities Engineer; hence his analytical mind, his love of numbers, and using maps. He was co-owner of The Bonding Place, a loving home for handicapped adults; hence his love of helping people. His passion was traveling, gardening, telling stories to others, and mostly his love of teaching about and sharing his love of God.

Theron was preceded in death by his son Mark Galor, wife June Bond, wife Bettye Bond, and great-grandson Jamie Llerena.

He is survived by his children Christopher Bond, Julie Bond, Christie Crook, and Kenneth Bond; his grandchildren Jennifer Llerena, Derrick Eddy, Matthew Walso, Tony Matson, Desha Hopps, Kawika Hopps, Jesse Stoddard, and Kalei Hopps; and great-grandchildren Tryston Adams, Keely Hopps, Eden Walso, Logan Eddy, Kyla Hopps, Avielle Walso, Kai Hopps, Leilana Hopps, Presleigh Hopps, and Tambria Matson.

A celebration of Life and the scattering of his ashes to join his late June has been planned at a later date in Homer, Alaska.
