Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Thomas R. Needham died March 9, 2004. He is survived by his two children Kristin and David Needham; his former wife of 22 years, Kathy Needham (Riley); brothers Michael (Janice) and John (Robbie) Needham; and several cousins, nieces and nephew.
Mr. Needham was born on Feb. 19, 1959, in Indianapolis, Ind., to Lawrence and Carol Needham (Reddington). His parents proceeded him in death. He was a custom woodworker/furniture maker by trade.
He moved to Alaska with his family in 1993.
His family said, "Thomas (Timber Tom) loved the great outdoors, woodworking and playing guitar."
Funeral services were held in Illinois on March 17. A memorial service will be held on April 1 at the First United Pentecostal Church in Palmer at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family will be appreciated. Anyone with questions may call Kathy at 269-7599 days or 746-3835 nights.
