WASILLA — A head-on crash that pulled in a third car early Sunday morning sent one driver to the hospital.
According to an Alaska State Trooper press statement, the crash was reported at 1:07 a.m., Nov. 11 on Knik-Goose Bay Road at Kathilyn Road.
Shane Warren, 21, of Wasilla, was eastbound driving a Ford pickup when he started to fishtail.
“The vehicle crossed the centerline and collided with a Pontiac Sunfire being driven by Shane Cullison, 18, of Wasilla,” according to troopers.
Cullison then hit a Pontiac Grand Prix being driven by Amber Hubner, 22, of Wasilla. Cullison was trapped in his Sunfire and had to be rescued. Warren was taken to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Troopers report that, “alcohol and controlled substances are suspected of being a factor in the crash” but don’t say who may have been partaking or why they suspect that.
