Three indicted in meth bust

PALMER -- Three Wasilla people were indicted Wednesday on drug charges alleging they were involved in producing methamphetamine.

Giuseppe A. Rossi, 22, Lorinda R. Peterson, 22, and Michael D. Peterson Jr, 22, were all charged in a joint indictment. Rossi was indicted on one count of second-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance. Peterson was indicted on three counts: one second and one fourth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance, and one count of tampering with evidence.

Peterson Jr. was indicted on second and fourth-

degree misconduct involving a controlled substance.

Rossi originally was contacted by police in a traffic stop, according to charging documents. Police officers saw what they said appeared to be components used to make methamphetamine in a shopping bag, namely six or seven packages of cold medicine.

According to the indictment, the three were at a Merrill Circle home on Feb. 5, in Wasilla when a search warrant was served on the vehicle he was driving, and the home. Inside the vehicle, officers allegedly found empty cold medicine packages. Inside the home, the indictment said, were some chemicals commonly used in the first stages of producing meth, including ephedrine, pseudoephedrine and salts or isomers.

According to the indictment, as the drug unit entered the home to execute the search, Lorinda Peterson allegedly tried to hide a bag containing the drug and meth glasswear. The additional tampering charge was added as a result of that

incident.
