PALMER— Thrifters Rock Palmer is hosting a 12th Year Anniversary Garden Celebration Saturday, May 21.
The public is invited to partake in a number of activities such as shopping for shorts and tank tops that are buy one get one free, viewing or purchasing handmade birdhouses created by community members, entering for door prizes, and grabbing lemonade and baked goods to support Connect Palmer.
Those interested in attending the event can enter for a free gift card by visiting the store in the days leading up to the event.
Community members recently submitted handmade birdhouses during a recent store competition. The birdhouses will be on display and up for sale alongside various garden art displays throughout the event.
“Some of them are pretty darn cute,” Thrifters Rock Palmer store manager Vicki Hoyman said. “We live in a wonderfully creative community.”
Reflecting on Thrifters Rock thriving as a business the last 12 years, Hoyman said it’s been a positive cycle of community donations and overall support on top of solid teamwork among their staff members.
“We are who we are today because we started out with an amazing group of people,” Hoyman said. “There is no thrift store in Alaska that is quite like we are.”
The 12th Year Anniversary Garden Celebration runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 21 at Thrifters Rock Palmer, located at 9201 East Frontage Road. For more information, call 907-745-7625.
