Time to give 'The Donald' the boot

Just days ago Donald Trump crossed the line. Actually he took a flying leap straight into the realm of our darkest history buried by time and millions of dead. It reeks of the stench of fascism, fueled by the rot of paranoia — and guess who is holding the shovel? Trump, the man himself in an ego inflated bid for the highest office in the country.

His call to have American Muslims register themselves and to ban all Muslims from this country is straight out of the hellish past, nearly word for word used by another man of huge ego in his bid for power nearly 80 years before when the world slid into a darkness that only war would bring the light of freedom back. His name? Adolf Hitler. Hitler used toxic anti-Jewish rhetoric exactly like Trump has done against Muslims. He made the fears of the German people against the Jews as his base for power. He made those fears to seem very real to them. It was an illusion, a huge stack of lies aimed at one thing — power over the German people. And it worked because the German people bought into all those lies that flooded into them on the radio and newspapers controlled by the Nazi party. The result was electing the most evil man on the planet to power. Millions would pay the ultimate price for it only a few years later with the start of World War II. Millions of Jews and anyone else the Reich disliked would die in concentration camps in what would become the Holocaust.

Trump has jumped on a similar path in his bid for power with his Islamophobic, xenophobic rants every time he speaks. He shovels it on thick and deep, feeding the creature called fear to monstrous size. What gets me is that some people are buying into it hook, line and sinker. But this latest outrage takes the cake that even leaders of his own Republican party have condemned him for it. But is it too late? Is Donald Trump turning into a fascist? By the looks of things the only he lacks is the mustache and the swastika armband.

The recent mass shooting in San Bernardino by domestic terrorists brainwashed by Daesh (ISIS) has stoked that fear even more and Trump has taken full advantage of it. Little does he know he has played directly into Daesh’s hands. They want the divide, the polarizing split between Americans. They want animosity toward anyone who is Muslim in this country so they can get their hooks into them with a totally evil perversion of Islam to brainwash them.

Muslims are Daesh’s biggest targets to kill. It is convert or die period. And many have died by their blood stained hands. Trump’s alienation of American Muslims and our Muslim allies overseas fighting the extremists such as Daesh, Taliban and Al Qaeda will hurt America’s fight against terror. We cannot do this alone. Trump’s rhetoric has members of Daesh grinning from ear to ear. These people are not Muslim, they are terrorists. They are cold-blooded murderers. They are the true enemy, not Islam.

Trump wants you to believe that all Muslims are terrorists and that simply is not true. American Muslims serve in our military, and many have died for this country in Iraq and Afghanistan. They serve as police officers, EMT’s and firefighters. More than few died during 9/11 going into the twin towers to save lives. They are part of the American society and have been for years. They have been speaking out against the wrongs committed in the name of Islam by terrorists but the media tends to ignore them.

Trump is well on the path to repeat the biggest mistakes in history. One, the proposal to make Muslim Americans register and most likely carry special ID cards. Two, to have their mosques monitored or shut down. Three, to ban all Muslims from entering this country. Similar acts like these were done to the Jews of Europe during the early days of the Third Reich. Millions would die horrible deaths in the gas chambers and burned in the ovens. I don’t believe Trump would go this far. Good lord I hope not.

But what may come next is just as chilling: Interment camps for Muslims. It was done to Japanese Americans after Dec 7, 1941. That was FDR’s gravest mistake as thousands of Americans whose only crime was to be of Japanese descent. They were rounded up and put into interment camps scattered across the country for the duration of the war. According to news media, Trump likens his ideas to that of FDR and the interment to justify this insanity. It was wrong then, it is more than wrong now.

The proposals Donald Trump is pushing are unconstitutional to the highest degree — unethical and paranoid to the extreme. They are so un-American as be more aligned with the evils of fascism of the past. We cannot give in to the hate he is peddling. So what should be done about him?

What needs to be done is for Donald Trump to resign from the campaign. For he has proven to be a menace to everything American and to the people who live here. He is far from qualified to be the President of the United States of America. Send him packing back to reality TV with his own tired tag line: “You’re Fired!”
