Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Wasilla resident Timothy David Hecker, 40, died Aug. 13, 2003, at home, from complications of diabetes.
A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, at the home of his brother, Todd Hecker, on Guernsey Road in the Point MacKenzie area. The Rev. Guy Moore will officiate.
Mr. Hecker was born March 22, 1963, in Minneapolis, Minn. He was a high school graduate. He moved to the Wasilla area three months ago from Dallas, Ore. He was employed as an electrician. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
His family said, "He was a loving man who was always there to help."
Survivors are his mother and step-father Carol and Dale Hamernick; father, Dave Hecker; brother, Todd; niece, Kelsey; nephew, David; and extended family, Stacy, Teagon, Chad and Kaitlyn.
Arrangements were made by Valley Funeral Home & Crematory.
