Timothy Henry Podbielski, “Pod”, 64, passed away unexpectedly on June 17th at his home in Wasilla, Alaska. Tim was born on February 21, 1959, in the small northern Californian town of Burney to his parents David and Ellen. Tim was the youngest of 3 children who were well known within the small community. Tim excelled in sports, was quite popular and involved in all the social activities. Tim enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and partying. Tim’s love language was food, known for providing some of the best home cooked meals and BBQing on a charcoal grill year around. His meals were great to incredible. He had 2 years of training in ROP Chef Prep in high school. He knew how to make every kind of sauce and was dialed in on seasonings. He created over 60 venison recipes. He was also a man that could not pass up a good deal or bargain. That was training he got from his father. Need it or not if it was a good deal it was purchased. Tim married Olga Mendoza in Burney California in 1986 and they shortly after started a family, having his daughter Makiah, in 1989 and his son, Bryar, in 1991. In 1995, the family relocated to Alaska, which was the greatest adventure of his lifetime. Tim worked hard for many years to provide for his family all while exploring and taking advantage of all the wonderful outdoor adventures Alaska has to offer. Tim was set to retire this year due to ongoing health issues that were limiting his overall function.

He is survived by his daughter Makiah of Chico, California and son Bryar of Anchorage, Alaska; Ex-wife Olga Click, of Anchorage, Alaska; Brother Cliff (Lisa)Podbielski, of Roseville, California; Sister Ann (John)Trigueiro of Meridian, Idaho; Nephews, Jared (Rocio and their 3 children) Podbielski of Lodi, California, Nolan Podbielski of Roseville, California and Nathan Trigueiro of San Rafael, California.
