WASILLA — Less than a week after asking for the public’s help locating a fugitive Wasilla man, Joshua Beebe, 30, was located and arrested on a tip, Alaska State Troopers say.

Beebe was wanted on a $5,000 warrant for failure to comply with conditions of release on a felony second-degree theft case.

He was out of jail for about 20 minutes June 25 when he cut off his ankle monitor and fled, troopers said.

Troopers and the U.S. Marshals' Fugitive Task Force took Beebe into custody without incident around 6 p.m., July 15 at a residence in the Williwaw subdivision in Wasilla.

Beebe was remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility in Palmer.

“The Alaska State Troopers would like to thank the public for assisting in this case,” troopers wrote in a dispatch statement.
