To the editor:

Thank you, City of Wasilla, for your implementation of banning plastic bags 2.25 mils or less July 1, 2018! Congratulations to the citizens that shop and live in the city of Wasilla for the great job of bringing your own reusable bags when shopping in the stores in Wasilla. The trees, streams and fences around town should remain much cleaner now that the flimsy single-use plastic bag is no longer going out the doors of the stores in Wasilla.

A hearty thanks to WalMart also for charging only those customers who choose to take one of the heavier plastic bags they are handing out, and not adding the cost on to all consumers.

This is a great change we are making as a community, and we look forward to seeing the change coming to Palmer starting 1/1/19.

Many Thanks,

Liz Jackson
