MAT-SU — The Santa Cops and Heroes organization will benefit from the fundraising efforts of the Mat-Su Sertoma Club’s 2013 Mat-Su Plunge. In an effort to increase the fundraising efforts from within, Santa Cops and Heroes has issued an inter-agency challenge.
The challenge: if you participate in the Santa Cops and Heroes organization in any fashion, you are challenged to collect the most pledge money. The Santa Cops and Heroes plunger who raises the most money will take home one year’s worth of bragging rights and a beautiful, large trophy for one year, provided by Straub Strategies. The winner’s name and station will be added to a plaque on the trophy each year.
The smack talk between police departments has begun! Where will this trophy call home?
Will the trophy go to the Palmer Police Department, perhaps one of our Alaska State Trooper detachments, maybe the Wasilla Police Department? Fire Stations 61, 62, 63, 64, 65 are all competitive with each other. Of course, Station 61 has a beautiful trophy case just perfect for this trophy. There are a few ambulance drivers and EMTs who just might sneak up and claim the trophy, too! What about those in the Explorer program? Yes! They are also qualified to compete for the trophy and bragging rights.
The Mat-Su Sertoma Club thanks all First Responders for serving and protecting.
