A memorial service for Wasilla resident Tod Alan McCormick, 39, will be held Sunday, Nov. 10, at 2 p.m. at Kehl's Palmer Chapel with Pastor Dan Grisham officiating.
Mr. McCormick died Nov. 5, 2002, at his home. He was born August 19, 1963, in Colorado Springs, Colo., and moved to Alaska in January of 1984. He was an Eagle Scout and loved teaching kids to fish. He was self employed and enjoyed fishing, hunting, archery, snowmachining, the outdoors and ice fishing.
His family said, "Tod's love will live forever as a son, brother and best friend. He didn't know a stranger. His lifelong love of the outdoors led him to be the best at whatever he went out for. He always strived for the quality of life, not necessarily the length. We thank the Lord for allowing us to enjoy and learn from him, even for such a short period of time. He will be missed more than words could ever express."
Mr. McCormick is survived by his parents Ron and Judy McCormick of Palmer; sisters Lyndell Miller of Canon City, Colo. and Shandi McCormick of Palmer; nephews Andy Gonzales Jr. of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Dustin McCormick of Palmer; niece Catrina Gonzales of Canon City, Colo.; aunt and uncle Leona and Ben Smith of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and fiance Nancy Murphy.
Arrangements were made by Kehl's Palmer Mortuary.
