MEADOW LAKES — A 42-year-old man is facing a laundry list of charges after being pulled over driving a stolen snowmachine along the Parks Highway.
According to an Alaska State Troopers press statement, officers spotted the Yamaha Phazer and tried to pull it over at 4:13 a.m., Friday at Sylvan Road and Buttercup Drive.
Troopers say it didn’t pull over until Mile 50 Parks Highway, about a mile and a half later.
The driver, Paul E. Nibur, of Wasilla, allegedly had a stimulant in his system and methamphetamines in his possession.
“Further investigation revealed the snowmachine was stolen out of Anchorage,” according to the press release.
Nibur was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, fourth-degree drug misconduct and vehicle theft.
His bail was set at $7,500 and he was jailed at the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility. Jail records Monday afternoon showed he was still there.
