PALMER — New this year, Matanuska Electric Association will provide transportation for members to its annual meeting in Palmer, which begins at 6 p.m., April 23 at Raven Hall on the Alaska State Fairgrounds. The doors open at 5 p.m.
Buses will be available from Eagle River, Talkeetna and Big Lake to the Palmer meeting and back.
In Eagle River, meet the bus in the Fred Meyer parking lot for a 4:45 p.m. departure.
In Talkeetna, meet the bus in the Downtown Park for a 3 p.m. departure.
In Big Lake, meet at the MEA Big Lake District Office at Spring Drive, Mile 51.4, Parks Highway for a 4:45 p.m. departure.
Voting on nine proposed bylaws changes and for board of directors’ candidates ends at the annual meeting on Tuesday.
For the first time this year, members also can cast their ballots online. Online voting ends at 5 p.m., Monday, but people can still cast their ballots in person at the meeting on Tuesday.

Members also can vote by mail or in person at the annual membership meeting, which begins at 5 p.m., April 23 at Raven Hall on the Alaska State Fairgrounds in Palmer. The business meeting begins at 6 p.m. and is open to all members of the 72-year-old electrical cooperative.
