Organizers of the Mat-Su Transportation Fair held Sept. 25 at the Alaska State Fairgrounds thank the more than 150 Valley residents who visited the fair to learn about transportation projects under way in the Mat-Su Valley. Thanks also to the presenters and volunteers who helped to make the first fair of its type in the Valley a success.
More than 35 transportation projects were displayed at the fair. Among them were the Glenn Highway Reconstruction, milepost 34 to 42, Parks Highway to Arctic Avenue; the Parks Highway, milepost 44 to 52, Lucus Road to Big Lake Road; the Port Mackenzie Rail Extension; the Mat-Su Regional Aviation System Plan; and state and Mat-Su Borough road bonds.
If you were not able to attend the fair to share your views, it’s not too late. Project teams need your comments and suggestions, and want to hear about your concerns. Visit the Web sites below to learn more about projects coming soon to a street near you and help define the issues that need to be considered as plans go forward.
