Trapper Creek man killed in plane crash

TRAPPER CREEK — A man was killed Sunday evening when the Cessna 206 he was piloting crashed after the landing gear struck a tree.

Alaska State Troopers and medics responded around 7 p.m., July 19 and found Michael Zagula, 54, of Trapper Creek deceased in the crash.

Zagula was flying over the area of his daughter's wedding reception when the crash occurred, troopers said.

National Traffic Safety Board will conduct further investigation into the cause of the crash.
