PALMER — The Alaska Treasure Seekers’ 37th annual metal detecting treasure hunt is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., June 22 to 23 at the Alaska State Fairgrounds.
Three, one-hour hunts are planned each day, as well as a gold pan toss competition and a speed panning competition. A potluck lunch is planned both days, so bring a dish to share.
Entries for detecting hunts are $18 members and $25 for non-members. Panning events are $8 for members and $10 for non-members. This is an event for novices and pros.
There are prizes ranging from metal detectors, pinpointers and detector accessories to gold nuggets for winners in the panning events.
