PALMER — Seth Loggins, 27 of Wasilla stands accused of sexually assaulting at least eight boys and girls between the ages of 4 to 14. Loggins’ trial was originally set for Sept. 24 but it was pushed to Feb. 11, 2019.
Loggins, currently in custody, made an appearance in the Palmer Courthouse Friday.
The prosecution stated that they agreed to a to a “lengthy two trial continuance” and stressed to Judge Gregory Heath to select a specific date for Loggins’ trial. The prosecution said there were a number of witnesses.
Heath set a “special pre-trial conference” on December 17, at 1 p.m.
According to court documents, Loggins is facing 28 charges of sexual abuse of a minor (under 13) in the first degree. His allegations on file contained very graphic details that included the use of sexual devices, penetration, and threats with weapons.
According to the court documents, he was taken into custody on April 18 after an investigation by the Child Abuse Investigation Unit working with the Alaska State Troopers . After his arrest, more alleged victims have surfaced during investigation, according to the prosecution during his bail hearing, which he was denied and considered a “huge flight risk” according to the new bail system.
Loggins was a professional truck driver before incarnation and has spent time as a school bus driver. He is said to have known many people in the community, particularly through his church in Palmer; and he was close to several families within that church, according to several of the alleged victim’s families.
After several interviews with the victims and their families, Loggins denied any sexual abuse during the time of his arrest, according to the AST complaint on record. Early investigations through Loggins’ cell phone revealed graphic images, along with multiple “selfies” taken with various children and text messages about “going bowling and to the park.”
