PALMER — Those brave enough to test their physical endurance against an Alaska winter can head to Peak Fitness, 12501 Palmer-Wasilla Highway, at 9 a.m. Sunday for the 10th annual Colony Triathlon.
The event will feature a 10-kilometer bike race from Peak Fitness to 49th State Street and then to the Palmer Pool. Participants will then run a 5-kilometer loop around Palmer Pool and end with a 500-meter swim.
The race is put on by the Palmer Chamber of Commerce and attracts mainly adults and teenagers, she said. Participants are allowed to compete in groups of up to three people. Registration for the triathlon 9 to 10:30 a.m. and the race begins at 11 a.m. For more information, contact Peak Fitness at 746-3505.
