ANCHORAGE — The Mat-Su Ravens opened their 2012-13 season in impressive fashion, beating South-Bartlett 16-0 at Ben Boeke Arena in Anchorage Friday.
Johnna Elkins, Kelcy Quincy and Katherine Tisch each bagged a hat trick in the victory. Amanda Engen scored twice for the Ravens. Josie Fletcher, Keanna Hawk, Kadin Mulneaux, River Richards and Sarah Shaw added a goal each for the Valley’s all-girls prep hockey squad.
Fletcher, Hawk, Mulneaux and Quincy finished with two assists each.
Freshman Emma Denny stopped all 11 shots she saw in the Ravens net and earned the shutout.
The Ravens return to the ice to face Chugiak-Eagle River Tuesday at 5:45 p.m. at the MacDonald Ice Arena in Eagle River.
