WASILLA — A 31-year-old man on probation for felony drunk driving was arrested early Tuesday morning after briefly fleeing from Alaska State Troopers in a stolen vehicle.

Troopers say when they tried to contact Joseph Jackson Jr. following a dangerous driver report on the 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander he was driving he fled for about 2 miles before losing control.

Jackson was traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control on a corner, left the road, passed through a stand of trees into a residential yard and he struck a well casing, causing the vehicle to roll, troopers say.

Contacted around 4:33 a.m., June 30, troopers said Jackson was found to be under the influence of alcohol. Troopers said he also was found to be on probation for felony DUI and criminal Mischief.

The Wasilla man was arrested for felony drunk driving, felony eluding, first degree vehicle theft, driving while license revoked, and violating his probation.

Jackson was remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial facility on $7,500 bail and court approved 3rd party.
