WASILLA — Alaska State Troopers on Friday announced details of a stabbing reported the night of Saturday, Feb. 6, in Houston.
At around 8:45 p.m. that evening, emergency responders were called to a fireworks stand parking lot along the Parks Highway for a report that someone had been stabbed. When they arrived, a 16-year-old was found with multiple stab wounds to his head. He was taken to the hospital, and troopers said in a Friday dispatch that no information will be released about his condition.
According to troopers, the stabbing occurred at a home in Willow. A trooper investigation found two men armed with guns and knives went to the home at the request of “a third party” in order to evict a family.
After the teen was stabbed, troopers say the rest of the family fled in a vehicle, which was allegedly fired on by one of the two men trying to evict them.
After an investigation, troopers arrested Matthew Nelson, 36, of Houston for first-degree, second-degree and third-degree assault. Nelson was held on $100,000 bail with a court-approved third party custodian requirement.
Troopers said Friday they’re still trying identify and locate the second suspect.
