WILLOW — Authorities on Monday identified human remains found Saturday evening on a Willow Creek sandbar as those of a 71-year-old Missouri man who went missing more than a year ago.

According to Alaska State Troopers, the body of Jerry Warner, of Richland, Mo., was found about one half-mile downstream from the Parks Highway bridge at approximately 7 p.m.

Warner disappeared while fishing on the creek Aug. 8, 2014.

Dogs, helicopters, boats and divers were used to search for him no avail, according to a Frontiersman story at the time.

Authorities don’t suspect foul play at this time. Troopers said Warner's next of kin have been notified.
