PALMER — Tension is high at Colony High School as Alaska State Troopers investigate shooting threats.
On Oct. 18, school officials discovered threatening messages written on the walls in two of Colony High’s men’s restrooms, said George Troxel, Mat-Su Borough School District’s superintendent.
With a possibility of violence, school officials called on troopers to begin a criminal investigation.
“Unfortunately, we do get these threats,” said Troxel. “And we do take them all very seriously.”
Although complete details could not be released due to the current investigation, Troxel said the written comments left on the bathroom stalls hinted that a shooting would take place by the end of this week at Colony High School.
Colony High students attended classes today, despite the written threats, with Thursday and Friday scheduled as in-service days for the Mat-Su School District.
If anyone has information about this investigation they are encouraged to contact the Mat-Su Crime Stoppers at 745-3333.
