TALKEETNA — If that was your tractor trailer loaded with crushed cars troopers found in the middle of the Parks Highway Sunday, they'd like to talk to you.
At 9:27 p.m. Sunday, troopers say, they found the 40-foot trailer where it had come unhitched. It's front-end had dug into the Parks Highway near Mile 96, blocking the southbound lane.
They say the tractor wasn't far off — just 20 feet away — and it was still running.
The 2000 Freightliner appeared to have entered the highway from Montana Creek Road hauling a load of crushed cars.
“The driver fled the scene, failing to sufficiently mark the unmarked trailer and notify the authorities of the accident,” according to the press release.
