Alaska State Troopers received reports on a pair of search and rescue efforts. Both involved stranded snowmachiners.

Troopers received a call just after 7:30 p.m. Tuesday with a report that a pair of Trapper Creek residents were stranded in the area of Susitna River Road. Petersville Search and Rescue responded, and was able to locate and recover both people.

Earlier in the day, MATSAR Search and Rescue responded to the Diamond Lake area near Big Lake. Troopers received a report just before 4:30 p.m. that a Big Lake man’s snowmachine was stuck in the snow, and it was too deep to continue walking.

There were no injuries reported at either rescue.
