WASILLA — Authorities have released the identity of a woman found dead alongside Vine Road near Wasilla Monday morning.

Alaska State Troopers responded to the report of a pedestrian in the ditch along the northbound lane of Vine Road near West Appalachian Drive at 9:25 a.m., AST Public Information Officer Supervisor Tim DeSpain said. In an email, DeSpain said troopers found a deceased individual that appears to have been struck by a vehicle.

Troopers later identified the deceased as Tammy McLinn, 33, of Wasilla.

“Scene investigation showed McLinn to have been walking on the side of Vine Road and was struck by a 90s model Chevy truck or sport utility vehicle,” troopers said in a dispatch released early Monday evening.

Next of kin have been notified. Troopers are encouraging anyone with information related to McLinn’s death to call AST Dispatch at 352-5401.
