BIG LAKE — Alaska State Troopers released a few new details Friday about a Tuesday shooting there.
According to an AST press statement, the shooting was reported at 2:18 p.m. in Big Lake. Troopers would not get more specific than to say that it happened “at a house.”
In an email Friday, troopers added some details. They said the victim was shot in the upper torso and taken to the hospital, where he was stabilized.
Troopers said that the two men involved were a 75-year-old landlord and his 33-year-old tenant and that the shooting stemmed from an argument over “money owned regarding rent and a vehicle.”
The landlord shot the tenant one time with a .25-caliber handgun. The tenant was not armed.
“The circumstances are still under investigation, shooter reported the incident to AST and reported acting in self-defense,” according to the press statement.
So far no one has been arrested and no names have been released.
