Troopers rescue lost hunter

POINT MACKENZIE — Alaska State Troopers report two aircraft — one fixed-wing, the other a helicopter — came to the aid of a lost hunter Saturday. According to an AST press statement, the hunter, who troopers don’t name, was reported as lost and possibly hypothermic at 12:17 p.m.

“The hunter was located using fixed-winged aircraft and airlifted to safety by Helo-2. The hunter was evaluated by Central Mat-Su medics and was discharged at the scene,” according to the release.
