The Alaska State Troopers were notified of a collision Thursday morning involving a single vehicle versus a pedestrian on Bogard Road at Green Forest Drive.
The vehicle involved was identified as a Palmer Police Department patrol vehicle. AST and emergency services responded to the scene. EMS transported the pedestrian to the hospital. Investigation determined the pedestrian was walking west bound on Bogard Road at Green Forest Drive when they attempted to cross the roadway suddenly and into the path of the PPD vehicle.
The PPD vehicle attempted to avoid the collision by entering the wrong lane of travel. PPD was unable to avoid the collision and the front right passenger side of the patrol car struck the pedestrian. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. AST took case responsibility for the collision investigation.
