A Palmer man has life-threatening injuries after a shooting near Palmer Thursday afternoon.
Alaska State Troopers and Alaska Wildlife Troopers responded to a residence just after 3 p.m. Thursday and found a 27-year-old with a single gunshot wound to the chest. Troopers also contacted a 67-year-old man, also of Palmer, at the scene. The 67-year-old was detained and the weapon involved at the scene was seized, according to troopers.
The 27-year-old was transported by air to Providence Hospital in Anchorage.
Troopers are continuing to investigate.
