WASILLA — Alaska State Troopers are looking for witnesses to an ATV crash that happened around 2:50 p.m., Nov. 1 on the trail along Fairview Loop Road near Knik-Goose Bay Road.
Troopers say they responded to an ATV rollover and found two young men had lost control while riding a green Kawasaki 650 four-wheeler eastbound on a trail along Fairview Loop. Both men were injured and transported by ambulance to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Troopers say the ATV driver was wearing a helmet, but his passenger was not. Troopers say their investigation determined that the ATV was reported stolen from a nearby residence the night before.
On Wednesday, AST spokeswoman Beth Ipsen said that she could not release the names of the two men as troopers do not name people who are the subject of a criminal investigation but have not been charged with a crime. She said the case remains under investigation.
Anyone who witnessed the crash or has information about the ATV theft should call troopers at 373-8300.
