BIG LAKE — Alaska State Troopers are looking for two men in connection with a Thanksgiving night home invasion.
According to an AST press release, the attack was reported at 11:15 a.m., Nov. 28 but had actually happened even earlier in the morning, sometime between 3:30 a.m. and 4 a.m.
A 23-year-old man had been sleeping when his attackers arrived at the home he was staying at on Knapp Road.
“Two men kicked in the door, dragged him from the bed he was sleeping in and assaulted him. The female who lived at the home and witnessed the assault was not harmed,” according to the trooper report.
The man declined medical treatment on scene, but later took himself to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center.
Knapp Road is in the Beaver Lake area, a few miles north of Big Lake Road. AST spokeswoman Beth Ipsen said it’s remote enough that troopers assume the attackers left in a vehicle, but they don’t have a description of the vehicle.
“We don’t even have a good description of the two assailants. It was reported to us as two males,” Ipsen said. “We don’t have any other identifying factors such as skin color or height. This was also reported several hours later. A relative of the alleged victim was the one who reported it.”
Asked if the assailants left on their own or were scared off, she said they left on their own. She said nothing was reported stolen from the home.
Troopers are asking anyone with information to contact them at 373-8300.
