Troopers suspend search for missing Delta Junction man

DELTA JUNCTION — Alaska State Troopers announced Thursday they have suspended a search for a man missing since Sunday.

The family of Emmanuel “Martin” Hosier, 20, says he was last seen around 9 p.m., July 8, and did not report to work July 9 or July 10.

Troopers found his car Monday evening parked at a bluff overlooking the Tanana River where he was known to climb the cliff and adjacent bridge.

Troopers said they have suspended their search and rescue efforts that began Tuesday, pending new clues to Hosier’s whereabouts.

Alaska Wildlife Trooper flew over the area where his car was found in an R-44 helicopter, and one tracking and three cadaver dogs with the Fairbanks PAWS organization searched the trail and river for signs of Hosier on Tuesday, troopers said in a statement.

Wednesday members of the Wilderness Search and Rescue from Fairbanks joined the ground search, troopers said. Two boats dragged the river while another searched the area, according to troopers.

Numerous people from the community also helped with the search whether flying private aircraft overhead, providing food and water for the searchers, or combing the bluff area, surrounding woods and riverbank.

But search efforts found no clues as to Hosier’s location or direction of travel, troopers said.

Hosier is described as 5 feet, 9 inches tall, weighing about 180 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
