WASILLA — A 50-year-old Mat-Su man who previously came to law enforcement attention for allegedly blocking access to the Sockeye Fire has been arrested on child pornography charges.
Alaska State Troopers said on Wednesday that Scott Leitner was arrested at around 10 a.m. Wednesday at his residence on Phido Street in Willow. According to an online trooper dispatch, troopers served a warrant at Leitner’s residence and took him into custody for distribution of child pornography and possession of child pornography. He was taken to Mat-Su Pretrial and held on $5,000 cash bail plus a court approved third-party custodian provision.
In June, Leitner was charged with disorderly conduct after he twice denied firefighters access to his property in their efforts to combat the blaze, which burned more than 7,000 acres and destroyed more than two dozen homes. Court records show that case has yet to be resolved.
