Trout Unlimited Alaska hosting showing of the Fly Fishing Film Tour at Bearpaw River Brewing Company

Trout Unlimited (TU) Alaska will be hosting a showing of the Fly Fishing Film Tour (F3T) at Bearpaw River Brewing Company on November 11. The collection of short fly fishing films is designed to get the excitement going for next year’s fishing adventures.

Proceeds from this event will go towards TU Alaska’s Save Bristol Bay Campaign. TU Bristol Bay Engagement Manager Martica Drury explained that the showing will allow the organization to share pertinent information about enacting permanent safeguards in Bristol Bay that will go into legislative session in 2026.

The film showing lasts about two and a half hours. Each film is 10-20 minutes with an intermission halfway through the night. Prizes that have been donated by sponsors are given out as raffle prizes for attendees.

This is the first time that the film tour has visited Wasilla, Drury said. The film tour will be hosted by local TU chapters and shown around Alaska later this winter.

“It’s a fun event,” Drury said. “A lot of Alaskans in a lot of other communities enjoy it and it's been running for multiple years in a row. Also it's for a good cause and a good way to get out on a November night.”

Tickets for the show are $20 and spots are limited. Tickets can be purchased online.

“I'm excited to meet people in Wasilla,” Drury said. “We work all over the state, but Wasilla is an area that I haven't interacted with many of our supporters in. I'm excited to get out and spread the word.”
