Two Anchorage men charged with murder, Woman's body had been found buried in Wasilla last August

More than six months after Tawni Williams vanished and apparently was buried in a Wasilla grave, two men have been charged with murdering her.

Antonio M. Garrison, 37, and Curtis G. Kragero, 36, were indicted last week on charges of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, theft and evidence tampering. Kragero is also charged with hindering prosecution.

Garrison, in jail since his indictment on charges that he murdered Anchorage car dealer Paul Clinton, now faces two sets of murder charges.

Williams was last seen May 18 at the Northway Mall in Anchorage, according to news accounts since then. On that same day, she had received $22,500 in a Cook Inlet Region Inc. shareholder payout. That money was slowly drained from her account after her death, according to testimony and bank records supplied by William's sister, Virginia Graham.

Her body was discovered Aug. 29 in Wasilla, though investigators so far have not divulged the exact location in an effort to ensure a fair trial, Anchorage prosecutor Jay Fayette told the media.

Kragero was arrested last Tuesday evening at his Muldoon home. He was listed at a Wasilla address on his Permanent Fund Dividends until last year.

Garrison and Kragero were acquaintances who renovated the Muldoon trailer Williams had shared with longtime boyfriend Karl Smith.
