CORRECTION: An earlier version of this article incorrectly referred to the name of the road the driver of the gold sedan pulled across. Troopers say the driver of the sedan was pulling across Church Road on the Seldon road extension when the collision occurred.
MEADOW LAKES — Two women were transported to an area hospital with injuries after a wreck near the intersection of Seldon and Church roads Wednesday (Aug. 19).
A gold four-door sedan and a dark green conversion van collided at the intersection at about 4 p.m. when the sedan pulled across the Seldon Road extension and struck the northbound van containing an adult and two children, according to Alaska State Trooper Michael Shelley, one of at least three troopers who responded to the scene. The driver and sole occupant of the gold car was transported to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center. A short time later, a second ambulance responded to the scene and transported the driver of the van to the hospital.
“The sedan was headed across Seldon on the extension there and didn’t yield to the van,” he said.
The incident remained under investigation Wednesday afternoon. Names of the drivers were not immediately available.
