A Redington sophomore used a pair of personal bests to lead Valley athletes with two individual wins during the Soldotna Invitational track and field meet.
Mia Bukala won both the girls 300-meter hurdles and triple jump. Bukala had a personal record time of 48.72 seconds in the hurdles event, and a leap of 33 feet, 11 inches in the triple jump.
Wasilla senior Stephen Hafen set a meet record in the boys 2,000-meter steeplechase, with a time of 6:32.39.
Colony was the runner-up in both the boys and girls team standings. Host Soldotna swept the top team awards.
Andrew Richardson and Kenneth Motton led the Colony boys with individual wins. Richardson was first in the discus with a throw of 142-8. Motton won the triple jump with a mark of 44-1.75.
Kenton Phelps was second in both the shot put and discus, and Gabriel Black placed second in the 1,600 and third in the 800. Maverick Rodriguez placed second in the high jump. Kenneth Hopkins (400) and Grant Ousley (shot put) also placed third.
Annelise Larsen and Sydney Simpich led the Colony girls with first-place finishes. Larsen won the 400 with a time of 59.80 and Simpich was first in the 1,600 with a time of 5:22.45. Ella Hopkins had a pair of second-place finishes in the 1,600 and 3,200. Simpich (800), Halie Sandstrom (high jump) and Sophia Allen (triple jump) were also second. Larsen (200) and Jade Wood (high jump) finished third.
Hailee Giacobbe led the Wasilla girls with a first-place finish in the 3,200, and was third in the 1,600. Layla Hays was second in both the shot put and discus. Jewel Gardner was third in the 300 hurdles.
Avery Johnson used a jump of 5 feet to win the girls triple jump, and lead Palmer. Leila Petersen was second in the 100.
Reed Craner was third in the 100 and 200 for the Palmer boys, and Corbin Gerkin was third in the long jump.
Barak Wagle placed third for the Wasilla boys in the high jump.
