HOUSTON — Teyah Clark and Jesse Kurtz combined to win seven events to lead the Colony Knights to the team title during the 2015 NYO District Meet at Houston High School last weekend.
Kurtz won four boys events, while Clark finished first in three girls events. The Knights are among 15 athletes who qualified to participate in the NYO state meet as part of the Mat-Su A team. Mat-Su will also be bringing a B team to the state meet, which begins Thursday at the Alaska Airlines Center on UAA campus in Anchorage.
Colony High’s Kayla Olhausen, Keith Shepherd, Kacey Gage and Cheyenne Terwilliger; Houston High’s Lacey Holmes; Houston Middle School’s Ashley Hoglund and Teeana Nicholai; Palmer High’s Tim Meyer, William Andreanoff and Allison Qualls; Wasilla High’s Josh Hughes and Morelle Kinne; and Susitna Valley’s Frank Kelly also qualified for the chance to participate in state as part of Mat-Su’s A team.
